What are residential Services?
HASC Center provides homes for people with developmental disabilities
that enhance their inclusion and integration into the community. These
homes all follow the Individualized Residential Alternative (IRA) model
and are regulated by the Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental
Disabilities (OMRDD).
Who is eligible?
To be eligible for residential services an individual must have a developmental
disability and be on Medicaid.
What is the IRA?
The Individualized Residential Alternative (IRA) serves people with DD
(who are Medicaid eligible) in a residential setting that meets their
individualized needs. Trained and dedicated staff provide the supervision
and assistance each resident requires to achieve a maximum level of independence.
Day programming and clinical services offer the opportunity to continue
to grow and learn while leading productive lives.
All people who live in an IRA operated by HASC Center either attend a
day program during each weekday or hold a competitive job. Evenings and
weekends are spent participating in social, cultural and recreational
activities.
